
The Visual Arts Scholastic Event, also known as, VASE is a TSEA sponsered event in Texas where high school students are able to submit their art work in order to be evaluated on a basic scaled rubric.
The competition recgonizes students’ achievement through skill, creativity, and expression.
This year, the Region 11 South VASE took place on Saturday, February 14th, students met with a judge, an interview was held and their artwork was discussed, from there, the judge assigned a rating of 1-4.
Students who received a 4 have received the highest rating therefore, they receive a medal for their work. The judges then decide what pieces from those that received the highest rating have qualified for the state level of the competition.
