The Raven is a poem written by Edgar Allen Poe, he interweaves some of his personal life and fiction in the poem. The poem includes a raven who repeats the word “nevermore” to symbolize Poe’s grief that he can’t seem to escape from. Lenore was Poe’s lost loved one who he was grieving for quite some time. He was dealing with the permanent absence of his beloved Lenore. The poem ends with the conclusion on how he persists to feel the grief and his soul will be lifted “Nevermore”. The poem was adapted into a play Paschal Theatre will be performing, Nevermore!
