On Thursday, September 18th, fans packed into Dickies Arena in Fort Worth to experience Laufey’s highly anticipated concert. Known for her blend of jazz, pop, and classical influences, the Icelandic singer-songwriter captivated the audience with a performance that balanced both spectacle and intimacy.
Despite the arena’s size, Laufey created a personal atmosphere that resonated with many in attendance. Junior Anna Johnson said she especially enjoyed how Laufey transformed “a ginormous stadium” into what felt like an intimate room.” Johnson highlighted the closing moments of the show, when Laufey performed two songs with only her guitar in the center of the arena, as well as the heartfelt finale, Letter to My 13 Year Old Self, which reminded fans “just why her music is so special.”
Junior Leah Trejo also shared how difficult it was to pick just one favorite part of the evening. She noted the variety in Laufey’s set, from piano ballads to guitar-driven songs, and the powerful messages woven into her music. Trejo also appreciated the artist’s personality, describing her as “kind and humorous” in the way she interacted with the audience between songs.
