As we approach the 2025-2026 athletic season at Paschal High School, there is no doubt that a new standard has been set. After historic playoff appearances across multiple sports, including football, baseball, and girls basketball, expectations are higher than ever.
After a breakout season in 2024, the Paschal football team is looking to go even further this year. Coming off of their first season in 5A, the Panthers made a statement—going 6-2 in district play and clinching the playoffs for the first time in 28 years. With several key players returning and a few coaching changes, Paschal enters the season as strong contenders for the district title.
Another program that has seen continued success over the past few seasons is baseball. Baseball continues to be one of the most dominant sports at Paschal, and after back-to-back bi-district championships this could be the year the Panthers make a deep playoff run.
Consistency has been a common theme at Paschal with girls basketball, softball, and flag football, all dominating against new competition. The girls basketball team made history by winning district for the first time ever and advanced to the playoffs for the first time in 42 years. Flag football also won district and earned a spot in the regional quarterfinals in just its fourth season as a program. Meanwhile, softball went undefeated in district before making another postseason appearance.
Alongside the traditional powerhouses, several other sports at Paschal are on the rise. Boys soccer, volleyball, and tennis have all shown steady improvement in recent seasons. These programs are consistently competing at a high level and proving that success extends across all sports.
Overall, Paschal has begun to establish a culture of success and looks to carry last year’s momentum forward. “The young men and women of Panther Nation are excited to build upon that success, and bring more championships back home this upcoming school year”, said Athletic Director and Head Football Coach, John Killough. With so much talent across the board, Paschal students and fans have plenty to look forward to.
