As spring break is approaching, you may be wondering what you’re going to be spending your week off doing. Even if you aren’t planning on traveling or doing anything extravagant, there are plenty of laid back yet fun activities in or near DFW you can look forward to doing!
If you enjoy being outdoors and being surrounded by nature, here are a few ideas of what you can do outside on your week off:
- Go to the Botanical Gardens
- Visit a Tulip Field
- Have a Picnic with friends/family/ or even solo
- Walk on the Trinity River
- Go to the Zoo
- Take a trip to Southlake and spend a day in the town square. Southlake has many shops, a great variety of restaurants, and a nice atmosphere for a chill day.
- Take a short road trip to Fossil Rim Safari Park in Glenrose
While the weather is predicted to be nice, you may prefer to be indoors. A few activities you may want to do or look into include:
- Go to the museum (Kimbell, Dallas Museum of Art)
- Do an Escape Room
- Go to a Pottery painting class/place
- Plan a day to go to your favorite lunch spot with friends and family
- Go Shopping
Now sometimes you’d rather be totally in your house, rather than outside or out and about; here are just a few more activities you can do while at home:
- Bake your favorite recipes
- Do crafts and DIYs
- Watch a movie
- Binge a TV show
- Play a game with your family
- Read
- Have a self care day
- Reorganize or decorate your room
Spring break doesn’t have to be boring just because you’re not able to go on vacation or leave DFW. While these are only a few ideas for you, there are plenty of things you can do if you’re looking to occupy yourself and keep busy. Spring break is meant to be relaxing and a step back from the stress of school, so try to do what fills your cup and allows you to enjoy your time off!
