At Paschal there are currently six teachers with upcoming babies and one that just had one on October 28! We were able to ask the teachers some questions and this is what they got back with us:
Ms. Bird is having a boy and she already has a girl. The best baby advice she has been given is “When they start teething don’t buy a fancy teething toy. Just give them the baby spoon/fork you’re going to use when you start feeding them soon. They’ll already have a mental map of their mouth when it comes time to start food.” The worst baby advice she has been given is to, “Put on bright red lipstick so she can see my mouth better when I’m talking to her and learn to talk faster.”
Ms. Schroeder is having a boy coming on February 24th. Right now she has an eighteen-month old daughter named Robi. Her best advice is to “Ask for/accept help, it really does take a village. And it will allow you to focus on all the little joys during the beginning stages.” The worst advice that she’s been given is to, “Sleep when the baby sleep… This is so unrealistic because there’s usually 100 other things on the to-do list that need to get done when the baby is sleeping. Examples: eating, cleaning, showering, pumping milk (if applicable).
Ms. Reimann also has an upcoming baby. Her daughter’s name will be Rory Laine Reimann and she is due on April 1st! She is having her first baby. The best baby advice she has been given is to “ask for help/be willing to accept help! You’re going need it!” The worst baby advice she has been given is “If you kid bites, just bite them back!
Ms. Edwards just had a baby girl on October 28th! She also has another boy named August who is four years old. The best baby advice she has been given is, “Every child is different, so give yourself some GRACE; You’re doing a great job.” The worst baby advice she has been given is to “Sleep when the baby sleeps.”
Ms. Davis is another teacher with an upcoming baby! She’s keeping the gender a mystery, but she has names for both genders. She says, “Already have a three-nager… it’s a thing. Ellah is a three year-old girly girl.” The best baby advice she has been given is “No one will ever know your child(ren) better than you even as a new parent.” The worst advice she has been given is to “Sleep while the baby is sleeping. Although, I will however try when my husband is home. (LOL)”
Our last teacher with an expecting baby is Ms. Kirchner. She is having a boy. The best baby advice she has been given is to “Make sure I have clothes/diapers that are larger than the newborn size on hand since oftentimes babies are larger than the size when they are born.” She couldn’t think of any bad advice, she said, “I think anyone who is giving me advice means well and maybe are telling me something that worked for them. Babies are certainly unpredictable!”
