Both football and volleyball recently celebrated their Senior Nights, honoring their senior abilities for their hard work and dedication. Two seniors in particular stand out from these sports, both in their athletic abilities and character: senior football player Dylan Williams and senior volleyball player Zoe Brown.
Dylan Williams (12) has had an impressive season so far with 55 tackles, 9 sacks, and 26 tackles for loss. When asked what he is most proud of accomplishing individually this year, Williams answered, “Being part of history: blocking the kick in the O.D. Wyatt game to send Paschal into playoffs–that’s unforgettable and will go down in history.”
Beyond just stats and athletic ability, Williams contributes to the team by being a consistent player who can be trusted and relied on. Teammate Chris Debenport (12) says, “I’ve loved playing with Dylan. He is a vital part of our team and a great leader.”
In fact, being part of the team is Williams’ favorite part about Paschal football. He states, “To be honest, every day being with the team is my favorite memory; I can’t really pick just one.”
The student body is hopeful that with the leadership of players like Williams, Paschal will beat Heights this Friday and do well in the playoffs.
Williams hopes to play football in college while pursuing real estate. He has poured so much into the Paschal football program, and his teammates and friends are confident that he will succeed in his next endeavor too.
Like Williams, Zoe Brown (12) has both standout athletic abilities and honorable leadership qualities. Brown’s teammate, Emerson Gebhardt (11), describes Brown as “an encouraging player and captain who pushes all of us to be better, both as individual players and as a team.”
Individually this season, Brown impressively got 59 aces, putting her just three serves away from beating the school record of 62 aces in a single season. She claims, “placing 2nd in aces–that’s an accomplishment I’m proud of.” She also notably reached a career high of 16 digs twice this season.
Brown is proud of both herself and her teammates for beating Arlington Heights two out of three times, with one of those times earning Paschal the title of district champions. In fact, Brown says that her favorite memory with the team is winning the district championship this year.
Brown remarks, “The game point in the 4th set was from my serve, which was an ace. Everyone–the whole team–came and ran to hug me. We all just celebrated together and that was pretty awesome and very memorable.”
As far as plans after high school, Brown is still undecided on which college she’ll attend, but she does plan to go to college. She plans to study interior architecture and design to pursue a career in interior design. Brown has worked hard both on the court and in the classroom all four years of high school. This level of commitment and dedication will take her far, no matter what university she ends up at.
The Paschal student body and community is incredibly proud of Williams, Brown, and all other Class of 2025 athletes. There is no doubt that each of them will accomplish great things during the rest of their time at Paschal and beyond!
