The Cowtown Marathon gives out awards to different age groups. For example, 18-24-year-olds will get an award based on who finishes at the top in their age group. The marathon even gives out awards to the select few participants who are 90 years of age or older.
Participants who compete in the marathon will receive a dry fit running shirt and finisher shirt, custom finisher medal, printable finisher certificate, food, free beer, and after the race, a free after party with a live band and activities.
Cowtown consists of 6 different races. The ultra-marathon is the longest race at 31.1 miles and is the most expensive race to compete in at $170. Then is the marathon, which is 26.2 miles, and the half marathon at 13.1 miles. And the 10k race, which takes place on February 24, is 6.2 miles. Another race that takes place on the same day is the adults 5k, which is 3.1 miles, and finally, the Cowtown offers a kid’s 5k race, also at 3.1 miles. Former marathon runner Tim Spencer says “The race is very challenging, especially if you would like to finish well. And it requires a lot of training.”
