The release of the Five Nights at Freddy’s movie garnered an unprecedented amount of success and popularity.
One of the key questions that surrounded the theatrical release of the supernatural horror film Five Nights at Freddy’s, is whether the bulk of the franchise’s fandom would go to see the film in a theater or would instead choose to watch the film through the streaming service Peacock.
The answer seems to be both. While Five Nights at Freddy’s generated an estimated $25 million in theatrical pre-sales revenue, the film has also become the most-watched and subscription-driving film title in the history of the Peacock streaming platform.
Moreover, the film’s robust theatrical pre-sales total became a box office success in just its opening weekend of theatrical release, especially since the film’s streaming revenue has doubtlessly already exceeded the film’s modest production cost.
After two weeks of delivering family-friendly frights on the big screen, Five Nights at Freddy’s has now crossed the $250 million milestone. The horror feature has earned $251.9 million at the global box office, becoming a very profitable success for both Blumhouse and Universal. The video game adaptation earned $15.3 million at the domestic box office throughout the movie’s release.
In addition to the success of the movie, one of the actors has been brought into the public eye due to his role.
In Five Nights at Freddy’s, Josh Hutcherson, a young American actor and film producer, plays Mike Schmidt, the star of the film. He has also been a known activist for the LGBT+ community. The young star co-founded the youth organization Straight But Not Narrow, which arms allied kids with the confidence and tools they need to speak out against homophobia.
While Hutcherson has certainly gained a strong following throughout his career, especially through his attachment to the Hunger Games film series, there has been a spotlight on him, specifically from women.
Claire Kyzar, a Paschal High School alumni, who studies graphic design at TCU, has taken a particular interest in Hutcherson.“He’s really kind and he’s also really hot. And he’s funny and I think he’s charming. And that’s the sitch.” She also takes an interest in the bliss of edits in TikTok. As a bonus, Kyzar has provided us with a ranking of her favorite edits. These are those rankings and reasons why she likes them:
#5
Starting with number five, Kyzar states, “I like this one because it’s straight to the point. I would say 5.”
#4
For the fourth place edit, Kyzar states “The classic, can’t go wrong with Josh Hutcherson whistle.”
#3
Kyzar ranked this edit in third place because Hutcherson “looks delicious here. You can cut that out but I will use my freedom of speech to say so.” I, in fact, am not cutting that out.
#2
Taking second place, Kyzar states “This is number two for me, I actually just like the way it’s edited. It’s very satisfying to me.”
#1
Kyzar states that this edit is her number one because it “displays all of his roles and highlights his talent in acting. He also looks really fine in all of them.”
