Recently, Mckinley Chase, Taylynn Biggs, and Ava Dyer were all awarded with the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA). Mckinley and Taylynn were awarded the AVCA All-America award, and Ava Dyer received the AVCA Phenom.
Mckinley Chase has recently committed to the University of California Riverside, and Taylynn Biggs is committed to Old Dominion. Taylynn leads the team in kills per set (K/S) at 3.4 and in hitting percentage, total blocks, and kills. Mckinley Chase leads the team in Aces per set at 0.5. The Paschal Panthers currently have a win-to-lose ratio of 20-12 with 11 more games to go. The Panthers play North Crowley on Friday the 15th, who have a 14-10 record, and end their season on October 24 against Weatherford. The Panther’s push for playoffs is officially on, with just over a month left in the season.
The Panthers have much to look forward to in the upcoming seasons, with a talented JV team and a roster full of skilled players. With this talent, many fans think that the girls should be able to make it far in the playoffs.
Just recently, Panther player Ava Dyer hit a milestone of 500 career digs, and Reagan Pitcock achieved 500 career kills. Ava Dyer, a sophomore, reached this milestone quickly as she earned it at the end of August. Senior, Reagan Pitcock achieved the career kills milestone just before her last month of volleyball at Paschal. The Panthers also have a freshman on the Varsity team, Georgia Ostransky.
Overall, the Panthers girls’ volleyball team has gone through some ups and downs, but they look to finish the season off strong. The Panther’s next 11 games are the season’s most important, with all 11 teams being in the same district. If the Panthers capitalize on these games, they should have a spot in the Playoffs.
