Football for girls? 

The Paschal girls flag football team is the first athletic group of girls to participate in flag football on the UIL level in Fort Worth ISD. The girls compete against other Fort Worth Schools including Poly Tech and Carter Riverside with seven on seven games. 

There are about 30 girls split between two teams that compete each week. The girls are currently undefeated with the Purple team scoring 24-0 against O.D. Wyatt and the White team scored 6-0 against Benbrook. 

Coach White, Coach Kilough, and Coach Potts have stepped up to lead the girls in this new team, holding practices every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Many varsity football players have also volunteered to help the girls at both practices and games that take place on Thursdays and Fridays. 

“It’s been fun helping out with the team, the future is bright and we definitely have a talented group with these girls,” Varsity football player and assistant coach Matthew Transou says.

The lady panthers are excited to lead the team to victory and make history as the first girls flag football team at Paschal High School. The hope is that this team has created a legacy that will continue to grow and succeed for many years to come.

Many of the players are seniors who are excited to be involved with the sport. “This is my first year playing and as a senior, it’s been the best sport and team ever,” said Maddi Zamarripa.
