During the weekend of January 19th, the Freshman and JV cheer squads combined themselves and competed together at the regional UIL competition. They showcased their band dance, fight song, and cheer routine in the competition at the Fort Worth Convention Center. The cheerleaders woke up bright and early for prelims to compete against 53 other teams.

         After the first round of performances, the girls placed 10th in band dance, 35th in fight song, and 25th in cheer, leaving them sitting in 24th place overall. The cheerleaders didn’t make it to the final round of the competition but their hard work really showed in their performances on the mat. JV/Freshman cheer coaches Coach K and Coach M plan on taking the squads back to UIL next year in hopes of making it to finals.
