Chances are if you’re a high schooler in the United States, you’ve taken the PSAT, also known as the National Merit Student Qualifying Test.  About 50,000 of the 1.6 million juniors who take the test become either commended, a semifinalist, or a finalist.  About ⅔ of the 50,000 become commended, and ⅓ become semi finalists. Paschal recognizes these academic achievers in a ceremony in November.
