Conference Championships

What teams will make the top 4 and reach the College Football Playoffs this year? This season college football has been a rollercoaster. This year could be the first year that a non-power 5 school reaches the playoff, or will the first ever two loss team reach the top? This article will be ranking and previewing the top 6 Conference Championship games in the weekend ahead and my predictions for the final four teams that will reach the College Football Playoff.

Power 5 Conferences:

  • SEC: Georgia vs. Alabama

This SEC championship game is the most anticipated game this year. The SEC Championship game will take place at Mercedes Benz Stadium on December 4, 2021 in Atlanta Georgia. It will air on CBS at 3 pm central time. Number one ranked Georgia comes into the game undefeated and the clear favorite to win. Nobody will ever count out number three Alabama though, they are a one loss team. Their one loss came to Texas A&M, and they barely survived the Iron Bowl last week against Auburn winning in the fourth overtime.

  • Big 12: Baylor vs. Oklahoma State

The Big 12 Championship Game will also be one of the best matchups amongst the championship game slate. A rematch from the game that took place on November 2, 2021 where Oklahoma State came out victorious. A playoff berth is on the line for Oklahoma State as it would be hard for the committee to let a one-loss Oklahoma State team out of the playoffs. The Big 12 Championship game will be played on December 4, 2021 in Arlington, Texas at AT&T Stadium. Baylor looks to make its revenge and give their best shot at a New Years Six Bowl Game. The game will be televised on ABC on December 4, 2021 at 11 am central time.

  • BIG 10: Michigan vs. Iowa

The Big 10 Championship game is looking a little different than most people thought it would. Second ranked Michigan clinched their ticket to the big dance last week after an outstanding performance against longtime rivals Ohio State. Iowa received their bid after Wisconsin was upset by Minnesota last weekend as well. The Big 10 Championship Game will be played on December 4, 2021 in Indianapolis, Indiana at the great Lucas Oil Stadium. The game will be aired on FOX at 7 pm central time. One loss Michigan is favored over two loss Iowa but anything can happen as we have seen throughout the year so far.

  • PAC 12: Oregon vs. Utah

The PAC 12 Championship Game will be a thriller this year. This is a rematch of the game that took place on November 20th, when Utah shocked Oregon and the world by beating them 38-7. Both teams are now ranked in the top 15 and although both teams do not have a chance at the playoffs, the winner locks their spot in a New Years 6 bowl game. The PAC 12 Championship will be played at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. The game will be televised on December 3, 2021 on ABC at 7 pm central time.

  • AAC: Cincinnati vs. Houston

This years ACC championship game could go down in history. If Cincinnati can win this game they will complete the perfect season and will most likely make the College Football Playoff. Houston has had a great season as well, but nothing compares to the season that Cincinnati has had so far. The game will be played at Nippert Stadium in CIncinnati Ohio on December 4, 2021.The game will be televised at 3 pm on ABC.

  • ACC: Pitt vs. Wake Forest

The ACC Championship Game is one of the less talked about games this weekend. Regardless, it is still great to see an ACC Championship game without Clemson for the first time since 2014. Pitt has been a pretty good team this year as they are led by Kenny Pickett, one of the Heisman Contenders and one of the best Quarterbacks in all of college football. Wake Forest started off the season 10-0 before losing to UNC, but then bouncing back and winning the week after before losing to Clemson the next week. After a rough 2-2 stretch in the later half of the year, Wake Forest still has a chance at a big time bowl game, and this has been one of their best years. The ACC Championship Game will be played on December 4, 2021 at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina. The game will be televised on ABC at 7 pm. Central time.
